Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about indoor golf equipment, simulators, and shopping with Luxury Golf Co.

Golf Simulators

What is a golf simulator?

A golf simulator is an indoor system that lets you play and practise golf using a combination of a hitting screen, projector, sensors, and simulation software. You hit real golf balls into a screen, and the system tracks your shot and displays it on a virtual course. Modern simulators are incredibly accurate and are used by tour professionals, golf academies, and home enthusiasts alike.

How much space do I need for a golf simulator?

As a general guide, you'll need a minimum of 3m wide x 4m deep x 2.7m high for a comfortable simulator setup. Smaller spaces can work for shorter clubs, but we recommend at least 4m of depth for a full driver swing. Our team can advise on the best setup for your specific space.

Can I use a golf simulator in my garage or spare room?

Absolutely. Most of our simulators are designed with home installation in mind. A garage, spare room, or large summer house are all ideal spaces.

Do I need a projector for a golf simulator?

Most full simulator setups use a projector to display the course on a hitting screen. Some compact setups use a TV or monitor instead. Our product listings specify which display method each simulator uses.

What software comes with the simulators?

Our simulators are compatible with leading simulation software including E6 Connect, GSPro, and TGC 2019, giving you access to hundreds of world-famous courses. Software compatibility is listed on each product page.

Launch Monitors

What does a launch monitor measure?

A launch monitor tracks data points about your shot including ball speed, club head speed, launch angle, spin rate, carry distance, total distance, smash factor, and more. This data helps you understand your swing and make meaningful improvements to your game.

What's the difference between a launch monitor and a golf simulator?

A launch monitor is a data-capture device that measures your shot. A golf simulator combines a launch monitor with a screen, projector, and software to create a full playing experience. Many launch monitors can be used standalone at the range or paired with simulator software for a full indoor setup.

Do launch monitors work indoors?

Yes — all of our launch monitors are designed to work both indoors and outdoors. Radar-based monitors like the TrackMaster Pro work at any distance, while camera-based monitors like the SwingSense are optimised for shorter indoor distances.
